Why was Vikas Dubey murdered and not been directed to court?

Vikas Dubey, one of the most wanted criminals in Uttar Pradesh. More than 60 cases were registered in his name.

2001 – BJP leader Santosh Shukal murder case. UP was ruled by BJP then. Murder happened in police station and 15 police officers were eyewitness in this incident. But then Vikas Dubey escaped. Sources say that he was well connected with almost every party in UP, BJP, SP, BSP which is the main reason why he could escape after murdering a BJP leader. 8th July 2020, 8 police officers were murdered by Vikas Dubey and his team and still he manages to escape. After 3rd July 2020, every single friend or connection of Vikas Dubey was murdered in encounter by Police. 9th July Prabhat Mishra was encountered. Police states that the car was punctured and Prabhat tried to run away because of which he was encountered. Ranveer Shukla, a close aid of Vikas Dubey was encountered. Police says that he tried to steal police vehicle and that is why he was encountered. 8th July, Amar Dubey was encountered. Couple of more accused from Vikas Dubey teams were murdered. And 10th July 2020, same story repeats with Vikas Dubey. According to Police, he tried to run away after snatching the gun from police and that is when he was encountered.

The doubts that came up with this entire incident

1 - A retired IPS officer alleges that Vikas Dubey will be most likely encountered. There are too many secrets about too many big shots in UP.

Dr NC Asthana, a retired IPS alleges that the road is clean and clear. All the doors of the car were shut and fields all around near the encounter site. There was not even a single reason for the car to overturn.

2 – Change of car which was on the way when Vikas Dubey was taken to Kanpur.

At around 4 AM, Vikas Dubey was seen in a Tata Safari at a toll plaza, but the car overturned was a Mahindra TUV 300. The cops did not even bother to cover their tracks.

3 - Media was denied following the police carrying Vikas Dubey during the entire operation. Why was media not allowed?

4 – Locals heard only the gun shots and none of them saw any accident happening at the place of Vikas Dubey encounter. When locals were asked, they did not see any accident, but they heard only gun shots noise.

5 - How come Vikas Dubey was not tied up with handcuffs? Is that not a protocol of keeping an accused when taking from one place to another?

Why are encounters bad?

Encounters are bad because just for a small amount of money, people are being dragged to encounters. 2018, India today did a sting operation where they were ready to encounter an innocent for 8 lacs rupees. More than 800 fake encounters allegations are there in Uttar Pradesh. In democracy there are three pillars, legislative, executive and judiciary. Whereas today, Judiciary is not been given much less priority. When police himself will finalize the judgement, what is the need of judiciary then?

My View – Vikas Dubey should have been prosecuted to court rather than encounter. So that all the names would have come out who were that much responsible as he was. But that did not happen.

In India there is very less police officers. 30% vacancies in police forces. 2.8 million police officers should be deployed throughout the country but, only 1.9 million are there. 144 police per 1 lacs people are there in India. UN recommends for 222 policemen for 1 lacs population to maintain good law and order. Police personals are overworked. Police lacks resources. Police lacks training. Judiciary faces the same problem. 40% vacancies in Indian judiciary system. Justice TS Thakur cried in front of Modi in 2016 for being over worked. Police has become a puppet of politicians which is the biggest loophole in India. They should be given free hands in order to work independently which would have a direct impact on political criminals.
