A story of
Zambia. The capital of Zambia is Lusaka. Three people were murdered on 24th
May 2020in a factory in Zambia. One was Chao Gui Feng aged 52 from Jiangsu,
China who was wife of the factory owner. The two other two were Bao Jun Bin and
Feng Miljie who were workers in the godown.
How
Corona came to Zambia?
First
Corona case in Zambia on 18th March 2020 who returned from France who.
On 25th March 2020, 12 people found positive. On 25th
March Edgar Lungu
declared lockdown. Borders were sealed, schools were closed, shopping malls etc
were closed. The population of Zambia is nearly 22.5 million.
What was the effect of Corona on Zambia?
Most of the Chinese businesses wanted the Zambian workers in
their factory to stay inside the factory and keep working so that there should not
be any break in the workflow. The Zambians working there in the factory were
not allowed to even meet their family. It was a complete lockdown inside the
factory. Even the Zambians were harassed in the factory. And the one who was
not following the Chinese were fired from job. Keeping in consideration this
overall approach, Mayor Miles Sampa insisted people outside the factories for
protests and all. Sampa also filed some cases against Chinese business
officials. He told the Zambians that Chinese are keeping them as slave and are
harassing them.
All the above facts directly or indirectly relate to the murder,
but Police did not co-relate it to anti-Chinese sentiments. After the murder on
24th May 2020, on 27th May 2020 a minister of Lusaka,
Charles Banda warned Miles Sampa to stay in limit and the very next day, mayor apologized
for his hate thoughts.
How China over rules Zambia?
On April 20, 2005, around 46 people died due to a blast at a
copper mine in Zambia and the owner of that mine was a Chinese. In December
2009, because of low wages, Zambian workers threw acids at Chinese managers. In
June 2010, there were casualties of 22 Zambian workers due to a blast. In
course of which Zambian mob encircled a Chinese manager but some how he escaped.
In October 2010, two Chinese managers fired bullets at Zambian workers protesting
at a Coal mine. There were lot of casualties then. A Chinese company owns the
Coal mines. Both the managers were arrested then. And on April 2011, both got bail
and the Zambian government took back the cases against both the Chinese
Managers. Whereas the Zambian workers had an objection that in Zambia all the Chinese
were forgiven for their deeds. In August 2012, low wages workers kill a Chinese
Manager. The Zambians had a grudge that the Chinese companies owes the Zambian resources
and the Zambians are kept away from the direct benefits from those resources. In
this whole picture Zambians are the workers in their own country and the Chinese
are the owners. More like a dictator-slave model.
History of Zambia
The British ruled for a long time in Rhodesia, a place in South
Africa. In 1911, it was divided into Northern Rhodesia and Southern Rhodesia. In
1964 Northern Rhodesia got independence and was named Zambia. Zambia is land
locked who is dependent on other countries for businesses. There is no sea for business
exports. But interesting part is that Zambia had a lot of resources among which
copper is abundantly found. In fact, a place is also named as copper belt which
has 10 districts in total. Because of this place Zambia is at 7th
place in terms of Copper production. 70% of Zambia’s Copper exports is from
this place only. Copper is a vast usable metal and is used at many places like
electronics, factories, cars etc. Copper Alliance Org confirms that 1-ton Copper
can run 40 cars, 60K mobiles and many more. Just think that for an any
production industry how much Zambia could be proved essential. But China had
understood this very early. And Chinese companies tend to invest a lot in
Zambia with also a lot of debts given to Zambian government. More than 15
African countries are trapped under the debt of China. According to a research
by Johns Hopkins University, Zambia owes a debt of 6.4 USD internationally at
the end of 2017 from which 44% is from China only. By now the amount would have
been more. With this debt approach, China started controlling the economy of
Zambia. More and more Zambian mines were leased by Chinese companies and they started
the businesses. Not only with mines but major infrastructure projects like Airports,
Highways etc of Zambia were taken over by Chinese companies. Over 280 Chinese
companies are there in Zambia todays. Around 80K Zambians are working under
Chinese management.
In 2015, Chinese president Xi Jinping started a project of
satellite TV named Top Star in 10K villages of Zambia. But the main objective
was to start pro-China propaganda in Zambia. Because of this propaganda 30 African
countries had 10 million subscribers. A total of 10 million subscribers are were
there in 2015. China has 60% stake in Top Star channel. In 2018 American National
Security Advisor told that Zambia could not pay the debt to China and then
China would acquire Zambian government agencies. Not only America but Zambians
are also aware of this. Zambians understand their government is completely controlled
by China and they are treated as slave in their own country.
Summary of the triple murder in Zambia
Because of the monopoly and dictatorship of China in Zambia
and it’s citizens, three people with weapons entered the factory and since
there were 3 people as mentioned above, it was easy for all 3 of them to murder
them.
