What should Government of India mainly focus on?

There are a lot of discussions that happen in our day to day life. May it be within the family, within the friends or within any community. And what exactly is the discussion about. It is about politics. I have seen majority of people discusses and put their thoughts in accordance to any political party and not on the governance. It sounds harsh but that is the truth. Some are in support of Congress, some in support of Bharatiya Janata Party, some in support of Aam Aadmi Party. But the fact is that in every party there are some good people as well as bad people. We just must remember that it is the governance that talks and not the party. Also, one person’s good work should not be considered in each step of the governance. Let me explain with an example. If the railway ministry does the best among all the other ministries in the cabinet. The entire party should not be given credit at any point. It is the ministry, the railway minister under whose leadership, railway happened to see some good outcomes. Only because of the railway ministry, giving credits to other ministries or the party does not make sense at all. One second example is of a person. Let us say that any MLA does good for his or her constituency. This should not be the case to project or give credits to the entire governance of his party or any other ministries of that party. It is the MLA who should be given credit. Unfortunately, India has been divided into two segments of supporters, one is Congress supporters and the other is BJP supporters. Some small segment of supporters is also there who supports some other parties like AAP, JDU, BJD etc. Yes, most likely those could be in state level.

Some of the major sectors that need attention both in the state level as well as in the national level. Let us throw some light on them. I will talk on points.

1 – Education – We all know that literacy rate is 74.04% which is quite low in our country that needs special attention. Every child below poverty should be given free education. And with that basic social education should be considered as a vital part of the education system. Our education system includes all education but basic humanity, sex education, social relationship is not taught which I think is a drawback. All the crimes, rapes, social abuse happening in our country I feel is happening because of lack of education. With these sorts of inclusions, the students should be prepared to bring a change in the society. Many parents should also learn from their children. The students should be made capable of making the elders also understand what is right and what is wrong. Today also, vast population of our country follow the caste system which is an utter mistake happening in this era. Any ruling government must play a vital role in diminishing this practice.

2 – Health Sector – Today in 2020, we lack better medical system and facilities being a developing country. An example that would prove my point was in Odisha. Two years back in 2017 a doctor and his team carried a pregnant lady on stretcher for 30 kms to hospital and the doctor Omkar Hota was felicitated by Chief Minister Naveen Pattnaik. Now my question is after ruling the state for almost 17 years at the time of felicitation, why was there no better medical facilities? Did not this incident give a kick to the state ministry for their negligence. Till date the many villages in Odisha lacks better medical facility. This is an example. There are many such places in India which lacks medical facilities. Many schemes are declared by many governments, but in ground how many are executed, no government investigates. And the main reason for this is nothing else but corruption. There should be a proper channelization in the sector and the high command should be the best capable enough to monitor the situation and get the things done up.

3 – Law and Order – Many a times we have seen glitches in law and order in our country. Either there are lack of personals or corruption within the system. An example of Madhya Pradesh where controversy flare up over video of MP police beating up a dalit man. Here police misuse his power on civilian. Upon further investigation, the Superintendent of Police and the District Magistrate were removed. No doubt removing them was a good decision, but the main question arises that why this happened. That is because of the negligence of the government which is taken over by the police personal and they misused their power. The main reason I believe is not been streamlined from the top level. Similar case if we take as an example of USA, when George Floyd was murdered by Police and the people of USA came over the streets protesting for the same, the USA police apologized. We cannot see any such things in India. When someone is proved wrong, he should understand that he/she is wrong. A second example is from Gujrat where Sunita Yadav, a policewoman upon confrontation with the minister’s son has to resign. Why she must resign, why not the minister whose son is an accused in violating the curfew rules in the state?

My View – Nevertheless challenges are vast, but when there is a will there is a way. The people should focus on electing the best candidate for their constituency whoever it is and whichever party he belongs to. Upon doing so, the best elected candidates will cross all limits to do best for his constituency and ultimately, the progress will be seen in the national level which will be better in every aspects of our country. A serious request to all the readers out there, next time when you go out for voting, please make sure that you select the best candidate. If you cannot find any, please hit the NOTA (None of the Above Button). If the Prime Ministerial candidate is good and his representative in your constituency is not good, please do not vote for him. Please note that we are not electing any PM. It is the Member of Parliament whom we are electing. When there will be a better set of MPs in the parliament, there would be better governance and the good graph will be seen rising and bad graph declining.
